Ok, I'm new to all this. I have the SM 3.8 Coder. I made backups of my ps2 games since they usually get stratch a lot. I made backups of KH2, Resident Evil 4 and Smackdown HCTP. When I boot the SM CD and when the boot menu showed up, i swap it with my slidecard to one of the games. Then I went to normal and/or special to boot it using Default, NSTC and even PAL, but nothing shows up. It usually shows only a black show. Sometimes it would go back to the ps2 browser.
I use Sony and Maxell dvds to backup my games. I also use Fuji's cds for the memory card exploit.
i also used this guide to install the ps2 memory card exploit which it did installed, but my FF ps1 games couldn't trigger it. the size was also like 9KB.
so is there anything wrong with it? I have a SCPH-30001 version. Do any of you have a guide that i can follow to make a ps2 backup that will be able to boot and play? what about another guide for the memory card exploit?
oh and what is a bigger toc disc?
srry for asking so much, but when i search around the forum, i didnt find any good help.
what is the door sensor? my controllers are working fine, both of them actually. Also, my dvd swap magic won't even load, only the cd version works, is that normal?
Ok, i was able to install the exploit into the memory card. I used FFVIII to get it to the psx screen. Then I press the eject button and put in Star ocean disc 2 then swap it with my KH2 backup, but it still didn't work. The screen didn't even change.
I can't boot dvd backup games with the Swap Magic CD right? The other backups I made such as RE4 and Smackdown HCTP didn't work too. I rebuild them using the guides.
The dvds I use are Sony D21, DVD+R. I also used Maxell DVD-R on my laptop for RE4.
So what is wrong? The Swap Magic DVD 3.8 Coder doesn't work on my ps2 for some odd reason.
This is making me mad. I bought the Swap Magic Coder after saving up for it.
Sorry about the "door sensor", I thought your ps2 was a new small one. I think you can´t boot any ps1 games without Breaker Pro.
Swap Magic is only for ps2 games booting.
And forget about DVD+R, ps2 doesn´t like it (at least mine)
