I received this information from a different forum thought I share it.
Just got a legal notice in the mail today. Class action lawsuit against Epson because their printers would notify user that ink cartridge was empty when it wasn't and halting use of printer forcing them to buy a new cartridge. They have agreed to settle to avoid fees. If you purchased an Epson on or after April 8, 1999 to May 8, 2006 then you qualify. You can receive a $45 dollar credit to the Epson estore as part of the settlement. There is an alternative to receive a $20 check and $25 credit to the estore or 25% of an estore purchase up tp $100 dollars.
Go to www.epsonsettlement.com to see if your printer qualifies.
To register a printer go to www.epsonstore.com/benefitsreg
I automatically got my estore code because I registered my product. If some of you haven't because of fear of junk mail then register your printer and you will get $45 coupon for EACH printer.

Well, now knowing that bs with the carts.: Are there any other inkjets in their price range that print to cd/dvds?
When evolution selects its agents, it does so at a cost, makes demands in exchange for singularity, and you may be asked to do something against your very nature. This force, evolution, is not sentimental. Like the Earth itself, it knows only the hard facts of life's struggle with death. All you can do is hope and trust that when you have served its needs faithfully, there may still remain some glimmer of the life you once knew.

Thanks jeryinlbc.........
I have two Epsons, I just registered. I think I had already, but playing it safe.
I have a 740i, we bought in Aug. 1999, with our iMac. I also have an R200, I bought in 2004. So $90 will be a nice little windfall! :o)

When the computer tells you that you're running out of ink, keep printing, until it does run out.........You don't have to change cartridges, as soon as it says you're running out.

When can we use these coupons? I got my codes in the mail yesterday but it seems like it will be sometime after August before they are valid. Is my understanding correct? Also if you have multiple coupons can they be used together in one purchase or only one per item?

I never payed much mind to "ink running out" or "ink low, time to change". I always run until I see a change in printing color, then I change. I am electing to receive a 25.00 check and a 20.00 e-store credit. The 25.00 will go farther buying ink elsewhere, and I guess I'll have to spend the remaining 20.00 at Epson store.

oh well, maybe someone over here will sue there asses soon too. I knew there was something dodgy about there cartridges, Non-genuine ink seems to last loads longer. I use Print-Rite branded ink in my R200, it lasts longer & the print quality is the same (if not better, and is about a quarter of the price too)..
good call anyway jeryinlbc, some good news for us consumers for a change.. it sure beats reading threads like "DUZ N E WUN KNO WERE 2 DNLOAD PS2 GAMES FROM??" here at aD.. :) hehehe..

l34merick,
Mine came in the mail along with the class action paperwork. I had registered mine when I bought it. If you go online and register you should be included and be notified down the road.
