im thinking of purchasing a slim ps2.... to play online games ....and i already have a ps2..its the old fat ones and its the one that came with gran turismo 3...and the chip i have on that wont allow me to play online... so im going to buy a slim ps2 but i heard that a slim ps2 laser dies out fast...so i wanna know how fast and if its true..and also is it easy to replace a slim ps2 laser ? and if its easy to install a modchip in the slim ps2...THNx

Also i would like to knnow...i heard that these slimlines that recently were released dont have laser problems is trhat true ?? Alsoi read somewhere that slimline laser burnsout quickly and if a laser to replace .....i think i have too many questions if somone has msn please give me your email because i have a lot of questions....thnx.

If u have the fat PS2 u can either disable the modchip if it has the
ability to! And Buy Swap Magic! I go online with swap magic everytime
no problems!

The new v14 slimlines, the silver slims, have the laser burning out issue fixed. innstalling a modchip is the same in difficulty that modding any ps2 is.

kk thnx... so if i go buy a new slim ps2 right now ....this ps2's laser wont burn out for say like 2 years ?? and also what a swap magic ..is it a type which u dont have to solder in the ps2 ?

so basically swap magic is like..you put the disc in then it will tell you to put in ur copied game right ?? that seems cool...and if i do that DNAS ID thing on a copied game will i be able to play online ps2 games ? and when i use this swap magic will it mess up the laser ??

As long as you're using Good Media you shouldn't have any laser problems... and yes about the DNA ID's

I use Swapmagic on a V7 Fat PS2 not on a Slim PS2
I also use HDLOADER and a 200GB Hard Drive but that's a different story
