Computers are meant to stay on. It's only the operating system and whatever choices you've made with it that may require scheduled restarts.

No, your computer will be fine. It's made of the same materials of other machines that are running 24/7.

apparently it is advised to leave your pc on 24/7 because eachtime you turn on your pc it sends a surge through your motherboard O_o of course most people don't have problems with this lol but you know what these big companies are like lol :)

Boot up is the hardest part on your computer, just like startup is the hardest part on your car.

Leaving it on 24/7 has some other ethical problems attached...like, did you know every hour you run your computer you burn a significant amount of coal? I forget the exact number.

I would more recommend hibernating it when you're not actively running downloading something...this suspends the current session to ram, which still takes a teensy weensy bit of power, but it also leaves the board energized, so it comes back a LOT faster than rebooting and is a lot easier on the system.

Just my 2 cents.

I wasn't meaning HIM, lol, broader scope here feller. I was responding to the people who say they leave theirs on for weeks at a time.

But...nevermind, don't think outside the box.

if you have a fast computer that generates a lot of heat, then you need a better cooling solution before you leave your computer on for so long.
