Hey, after looking through a hefty portion of swap magic posts, I decided to post one of my own.
I've had swap magic 3.6+ since Christmas (so for about 4 months.) I've played my games (back-up's) regularly as always. However, tonight I was playing Sonic Riders but decided to play Resident Evil 4 (as it had gotten dark out.)
So, I turned my (v12) ps2 off, left running the little fan I keep next to it (to prevent over-heating), and put in swap magic 3.6+.
But this time was unlike the hundreds of boots I've done already. The blue square-y "Sony Computer Entertainment America" screen came up as per normal. Then swap magic's funky looking "Playstation 2" screen came up, and then the swap magic disk keep spinning, but nothing came up on screen, just black.
I can see the disk spin faster, stay at that speed for a while, and then slow down a bit, then speed up again. It seems like it's trying to read it, but can't.
I've already tried a dvd movie (The Matrix 3) and one of my original ps2 games (Crash Nitro Kart). No problems with either one. I thought at first that my ps2 has succum to the dreaded dead laser issue that has clained countless other version 12's, but once my originals cleared through, I knew it couldnt be that.
The dvd's I use to back-up my games are Verbatim DVD-R 8x with Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. ink. (MCC 02RG20) All my burn's rate ~99% on Nero CD/DVD Speed. My back-ups ran great with no problems at all.
Problem free swap magic using for 4 months, and then all of a sudden, the swap magic disk doesnt work.
What could possibly be the problem(s)?
If anyone can shed some light on this issue it would be greatly appreiciated!
Thanks In Advance!
