Is there a hack or a way I can run a game that says it needs to update my PSP to v2.6 when I have 1.5 or 2.0 firmware? I was reading all the stuff you can do with a PSP yesterday, and decided to go out and get one. Mine is currently a 2.0 firmware. I just decided to buy Fight Night round 3 and it says it needs to update to 2.6 before I can play it. Does this mean all these new games that are going to come out are going to say I need 2.6? I heard that you shouldn't upgrade above 2.0 because you cannot downgrade then to 1.5.

If this is the case, I wish I would have read about this info before I decided to get my PSP. I heard you can even run windows on here. I would still like to be able to run backups, but want to run the new games too. Am I going to be able to run my movies and mp3s if I upgrade this to 2.6? Please help. Thanks a lot.

this will help you load fightnight
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/408

downgrade to 1.5 first before you can use the genesis umd launcher.
but it will load fightnight.

you are correct, if you upgrade you wont be able to play back-up psp games. you will still have movies and mp3, but wont have the isos.
like i said downgrade to 1.5 using
this guide complete with files and instructions
http://www.psp-hacks.com/psp-downgrade.php and then use the other prog i mentioned for fightnight.

thanks much man.... appreciate the quick reply, unfortunately, i don't have a memory stick yet, as I got my psp yesterday, and it was used and didn't include one. I will be getting me one soon though. I guess I will just have to wait until then to enjoy the game.... Thanks again.

a 32mb will be good enough to to downgrade your psps and big enough to hold genesis loader on it. perhaps you can find a friend with a 32 mb he doesnt use and u could use that in the mean time til you get you a normal size memory stick.
