DVD optical drive junk?

I have a Hp athalon with 2.2 ghz and 1 gig or ram. I have burned over 200 dvds with this setup using shrink and easy dvd copy. Just recently it wont decypt movies quick, taking 2 hours or more to get the movie to my hard drive. Then once its there it takes another hour or so to burn it. Its like my optical drive is in slow-mo. Is this a sign that its worn out and time for a new one??

May not be - I've burn more than that on 1 drive and it's still going strong. Check and make sure you are in DMA mode and not the slooow PIO mode. Here's a guide if needed:
