Hi, I know this is a common error, and i've been googling and searching this forum for answers, i've seen some neat guides; however, none of these support my model of ps2.

My problem: I have noticed my ps2 will only play Blue Backed DVD-Games &
PS1 games, all the others say disc read error!

my ps2 is about 18months old, the model is: SCPH-50003

I have cleaned the lense with a cotton bud & Tape Head Care Solution (Isopropyl & Alcohol(3/4 fluid oz.-15.c.c)

It made no difference, so I attempted to alter the laser height, however on my model there is 2 cogs, and in turning them 2 metal strips move, not the laser, i have tried iin several positions and it's made no difference, ANY help would be appreciated :)

my v1 is doin the same thing, i got it to read CDs (PSX game) by austing the pot but still no PS2 games or DVDs any info on this?
