What message comes on the DVD--Does it recognize the disk or does it play with bad video?

I'm still fairly a noob about this, but I've had the same problem. I think it depends on the dvd player. It wont work on my Panasonic player, but I tried it on a Magnavox and it works fine.

Second person I've seen with expensive Denon DVD player that won't play burnt DVDs. Cheap chinese players play them all.

Will it play a DVD5 burnt disc?

If it's a DVD+R are you book typing it to DVD-ROM

Saltgrass.........
Sometimes, it does not recognize the disk at all, sometimes it play until the opening menu and others it will play about half the movie then bomb out.

Garmoon...........
Yes it plays DVD5 with out any probs.
I am using verbatim DVD+R DL media wich was recommended for the liteon burner that i am using.

What does 'book typing it to DVD-ROM' mean?

If your burner has the capacity to do so Book typing DVD+Rs to DVD-ROM makes them appear to the player as original DVDs. Only +Rs can be booktyped. You're using great media. Verbs tops.

In Shrink> click on backup button> burn settings> check book type DVD-ROM
