Hi all, yes im a newbie here, thiught id join as you all seem to know wot your on about, so,

Dare I say "DOWNGRADING", My PSP, model PSp-1000, from Japan, version 2.5.

Is it possable to do yet . . ???

No. You can only downgrade 2.00 and below.

Not sure what system settings you want to mess with.

You can still do plenty of stuff with a 2.5 using the GTA exploit I believe. Theres a sticky thread at the top of the forum about it.

Yep Grand Theft Auto.

Its all new to me too, I was lucky enough though to stumble onto this forum before I bought my PSP though, so managed to get nice new 1.5

Lots of knowledgeable friendly types here though and the guides are very useful.

The very first thing a 2.01+ owner (you) has to do before he/she runs any homebrew is go out and get a copy of GTA LCS on UMD only throught this Game can you run the GTA loader. It will work on yours, as long as you have the UMD.
