Ok I've searched and searched before I posted this, maybe I missed something, but I don't think I did.
I have a hard drive I'm pretty sure is compatible.
I have the network adapter.
I have swap magic 3.6
I want to format the drive, and save games to it.
My problem is I cannot connect the HD to my computer (my parents will flip if I open their case, and my computer ain'ta workin')
I also can't connect via network to my computer.
So the questions are:
Can I use a backed up copy of hd advance with swap magic to format the drive/save games to it.
Also can I save a backup of a game to the HD, if so how do I go about doing it?
Yes you can format your drive with a burned copy of HD Advance. I would recommend getting the HDLoader patched version tho'. It has better game compatibility. You can get the CD ISO of HDLoader the patched version here:
Just burn this ISO to a CD-R, connect your Hard Drive to the network adapter and then to the your PS2, load Swap Magic 3.6 CD and then swap it for your newly burned HDLoader disc. Once loaded it should recognize your Hard Drive and then ask if you would like for HDLoader to format your Hard Drive, choose yes, wait for a sec. and your Hard Drive is now formatted.
As for saving a backup to the Hard Drive via HDLoader\HD Advance, check out this link:
Thanks, I actually had just downloaded that iso, burned it, loaded the patched hdloader, formatted the harddrive, and started installing an original when I came down to see if anyone had replied on how to load the backups. Thanks so much for your help and quick response.
