Hello! Well first off I have a PS2 v7 with a Fliptop installed and "Ultimate Swap" For those of you who haven't heard of it it has a bunch of utilities + Swap Magic 3.6+

Well, basically I can't get FFXII to boot. I have an Original Imported Copy not a burn or anything but it just won't boot from Swap Magic 3.6 when I try to change the media type from CD to DVD it says "NA" with the FFXII disc as opposed to PS2 DVD with the other games I've tried it with. If I use another DVD to set the Media Type to DVD it will start to boot from Swap Magic but then it'll just go back to the PS2 Browser screen for a split second then say on a red screen "Please insert Playstation or Playstation 2 Game"

I was thinking maybe I could try booting it using a Memory card exploit or something since I don't really like using the Boot Disc at all but I'm not quite sure if that would work or exactly how I would go about doing that, although I think I could figure it out.

It would be great if someone could help me out here because I'm at a loss at what to do next.

Thanks!

Edit: I know my FFXII Disc isn't damaged or anything because I can run it on my PC and rip stuff, everything checks out.

Quote:
Swap Magic does not play ps1 games.
Correct but this is Final fantasy XII he is talking about.
Its surely NOT a ps1 game.FF12 is for ps2.

If your using the 'real' swapmagic disks you should have
no issues with this game.

I an not sure what 'ultimate swap' is.
But my copy boots up fine with swapmagic and flip-top.

Swapmagic is all you need for imports both real and copied.
But your SM disks dont sound to be authentic.
My swapmagic disks are 2 seperate disks one for cd's games
and one for dvd games.
SM should have NO problem booting an original import.

Edit after seeing the website,
IM NOT SURE ABOUT YOUR boot-disks.
I would get REAL swapmagic disks and you wont have this problem.
After reading the website on the 'ultimate swap',
It doesnt work the same as swap magic because they
are not LICENSED to sell swapmagic products.

The 'ultimate swap' is a rip-off of swapmagic AND not recommended

Cheers!
