All the Disney movie's I try to burn, fail. I usually use DVD Shrink, but it's not working with the Disney movie's. What do I have to do?

Need more information, what are the movies and what is the error you are getting in shrink.
Most of the Disney movies have Ripguard protection.
Will need to have either AnyDVD running in the background or use the AnyDVD ripper or use DVDfab Decrypter which will rip entire movie to hard disk and the process through shrink.

I found the same thing. DVD Shrink works fine until you try to clone some of the newer disney and Sony produced DVDs. This is because these companies add at least six different types of copy protection such as Bad sector errors, accross protection, etc.. and Shrink hasn't been updated in almost two years. Usikng DVD Decrypter before DVD Shrink often works but not always. I used Shrink for years before but at this time to avoid any future headaches, I recommended the fully updated AnyDVD + CloneDVD2 from Slysoft. Save money by just buying the licenses from what ever online auction site you like. They'll just email you the licenses so you get free upgrades for life. I paid $5 for both licenses and I was able to clone anything with this combination, Fun with Dick and Jane, Disney's Chronicles of Nardia, King Kong, Memoirs of a Geisha, Chicken Little, etc... Never had a problems. I know $5 is not free but hey, I used to spend hours trying combinations of free dvd software and if time is money, I lost a lot more on the free stuff if that makes sense.

Please do NOT buy keys from on-line auction site, these are NOT legit keys. Give credit where credit is due and buy off Slysoft's site.

@sammycha,

How do expect to keep Slysoft in business? Do you really think you DESERVE lifetime updates when you did not pay for legal keys?

Ok I wasn't expecting to get in to this as I thought this forum was about problems with Disney DVDs but anyways your assumptions are not called for. I suspected that as well when I saw the listing for AnyDVD but after reporting the listing, and talking with the person selling it, it became apparent that it's not illegal. Basically you're paying somebody who paid for the license from Slysoft and doesn't want to use the software any more to transfer that license over to you. People buy used cars, PC games and dvd movies all the time, it's no different.

I also agree that when it comes to backing up the Disney stuff, go with Clone DVD2 & AnyDVD. I've been able to back up about 30 of the latest disney without a single problem.

I've copied several allegedly uncopyable DisnyDVD's with no problem whatsoever, using either DVDshrink, or DVD Decrypter. Contrary to anything macrovision has to say about it, DVD decrypter is PUBLIC property, and by no means does macrovision own it- They cannot own something that was given to the public for free in the public domain.

Regarding what Sammycha suggested about buying licences for AnyDVD from someone selling their software, I agree with him that used software is no more illegal than a used car.

NO, but Slysoft can NOT expect to be paid MORE THAN ONCE for a product. And, why should the person who buys such a licene NOT get "free" updates? They legally BOUGHT the software from a person who LEGALLY bought it. So, they ought to get at least a years worth of updates. After that, let them buy a new version.

HOWEVER: What you did not consider, is that, maybe I DO NOT WANT updates? Do I want Microsoft updates? NO! But they try to shove them down our throats BY DEFAULT.

I use Nero 6.2.1.6: I DO NOT WANT Any Nero updates, I like that sersion FINE. I use Roxio 6. I LIKE IT FINE, so I WILL NOT UPDATE IT.

I also hate it when OS upodates force a Software update from someone else. Microsoft can get STUFFED.

Now, you do not see Ford bitching about a 67 Mustang that has been sold and resold about 100 times, Any Software company that tries to keep ownership of something AFTER it has already been paid for, needs to be run out of business.

See, I am willing to buy AnyDVD from Slysoft, but I am also willing to buy it from someone who has it and wants to sell it to me, and that makes the key mine in either case, and also makes the transaction 100% legal. I just want to know why more people are not directing their religio-bitching to Slysoft instead of sammycha. Actually the worst perps regarding this is Microsoft who makes billions on OS's that keep people dependent on MS. Why are there not 12 different OS's and why can;t we choose to NOT use MS?

So that is my take on that panning that "mackdl" was giving out. Someone asked about How to burn Disney movies, not which transactions are legal.

So, will someone please be more specific about the burning errors, cos I ain't seen one yet in all my burning, and I normally use DVD shrink with Region + CSS Free from Fentgao software.

If you are getting errors then run Region Free first then start DVD Shrink and make sure Region Free is running during the DVD Shrink Analyzing process, cos that is where your errors will show up. Normally they do not protect the previews or the menus, the errors start up when the actual moovie starts to run through the analyser..

So, tell us what the problems are so we can all look at it. Remember, we have set aside the issue of licenses, I just resolved it, it is squashed now.

Hmmmmmmm, all Slysoft products with license keys for $8.88 US? 18 available, doesn't sound to me like someone selling their OWN personal licence(s). WHATEVER.

Thanks XweAponX, I wish people like mackdl would stop making assumptions and yet he does it again. In regards to your auction link, that's the same with dvd movies or any software when you buy from an online auction site. Make sure you buy the original ones only. You're just purposely looking for an illegal one and acting dumb like that's where I brought it from. WRONG.

XweAponX.........
If I was a betting man, I'd bet the original owner of the key you or sammycha bought, is still using it! He'd be foolish to sell it, since the program works so great. Since that key is registered to him, at Slysoft's site, you'll start having problems before long, and you'll be asking everybody here, why you're having these problems. Know now, that's it's because it's registered to the other guy...........

There's not 12, but there are others. So, you do have a choice! You can get a Mac and use the mac OS, or you can install and use the Linux OS! You don't have to use a MicroSoft OS at all........

If someone's not willing to spend the money on AnyDVD and /or CloneDVD, I just can't imagine that person buying Roxio or Nero either. Just my take on it though................ :o)
I'm not saying it didn't actually happen. I'm just saying that I can't see it happening. Good luck with your cheap AnyDVD........

Also know that Slysoft won't support AnyDVD, if the key was bought from anywhere, other than from Slysoft. I don't think it is transferrable. You can send them an email, and find out.

The cover story about buying AnyDVD / CloneDVD2 from online auction sites is that you won't be able to upgrade your version. I can tell you that I brought my licenses for both Any DVD and CloneDVD2 a couple of months ago for $5US. As you know AnyDVD version upgrades came out at least 3 times since then and CloneDVD2 just recently came out with a newer version (from 2.8.9.2 to 2.8.9.7). I've upgraded my AnyDVD three times (5.9.4.1 to 5.9.5.6 to 5.9.5.8)and my CloneDVD2, there's no problems, business as usual. Both programs state in the 'About' folder that they are registered to my serial number (licensed). Cloned new DVDs (Sony / Disney, etc..) last week with the programs and works great. So I guess it is possible to buy a legal license off the Slysoft website.

@sammycha, Its too bad that we have members that think like you. You may have purchased a so called LEGAL KEY that another person paid Slysoft for, but you can't sit there and believe the resale of that key for $5.00 is legal. We all know that same key was probably resold a hundred times. We can't stop you from buying keys like that but I suggest you don't brag about it anymore or give out those kind of suggestions. We here at Afterdawn support the true software developers and suggest you buy needed keys from their site. Do what you want, but keep it to yourself. This thread will be reported.

You need to can it with the illegal licenses (yes they're illegal and it won't be debated). You're pissing off the community and when the community gets pissed I get pissed. I don't want to see you brag about those keys anymore.

"Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes, I will do what I must." Ok, you've made your absolute point of view clear, this was never about me showing off about finding a good deal but I can smell the assumptions coming up again. Let me clarify what this was suppose to be about since it's apparently not intuitively obvious to the most casual observer. I see many people on the forums here trying to use a variety of software, DVD Shrink, DVD Decyrpter, Nero, etc... spending hours without any luck, some of these people want AnyDVD and / or CloneDVD2, but not being able to afford the $59US. Just like many people want a brand new Dodge Viper but can't afford it. Like showing them a used Toyota Echo, I was simply stating, hey buddy, here's an idea, find somebody who no longer needs their license and purchase it. Believe it or not, there are people who clone DVDs, then something comes up (work, school, military service) and they're going off maybe with just a laptop, for what ever reason, are sure they aren't going to clone any more DVDs so they sell it, why not ? I felt that since so many people were not aware of this, I should give them ideas to help them out. I mean that is what these forums are for ? For those of you who do not have an open mind and see only one path as the last few comments, again "Only a sith lord deals in absolutes, I will do what I must". Over and out.

Okay, I'll bite and deal in absolutes.

"Are you 100% ABSOLUTELY sure, Slysoft is getting 1 cent of these online auctions??"

Common sense tells me NO. Common sense tells me these people never bought one single key to begin with. Common sense tells me, these people, along with their fake keys are prolific liars.

I will also make the assumption that both sammycha and XweAponX downloaded the FREE trial(s) from Slysoft. You liked it enough to use, I assume, all the time. Support Slysoft and DON'T direct people anywhere BUT their site.

If one can't afford their software, there are free alternatives which many members go out of their way to help with.

BTW, I didn't have a car until I was 23 years old. I rode my bike to work everyday until some thoughtful person cut the lock and stole it. I then had to walk to work as I couldn't afford the bus fare. When I moved to the boonies, I hitch-hiked the 30+ miles back and forth to work until I could afford to buy my $500 car. Why did I live in the boonies? Because I couldn't afford the rent in the big cities.
