p.s even though my xbox is on the ethernet connection is limted or has no connectivity or so the pc says...

sorry for like triple posting but i got it working, i just used ie instead and it worked straight away without changing anything lol. anybody know any good mods sites apart from a4h.us
which i suppose isnt gd anyway

how can i find out what my original IP address was on my xbox before i changed to use the FTP? or will i still be able to sign into xbox live evern tho it was changed

and your xbox ip is:
ip address: 169.254.187.22
subnet mask: 225.225.225.0
default gateway: 167.254.187.21
CHANGE THE DEFAULT GATEWAY ON XBOX TO 169.254.187.21
Then try to connect again.

i still cant connect my box to flah fxp, the LAN connection keeps asying acquiring network address and when i close out the tab after putting in the ip a message comes up that says' the static ip address that was just configured is already in use on the network. please reconfigure a different ip addres' so i have no clue what to do any help would be great AIM:ichoosethebanjo

tell me what is your pc and xbox ip like those guys above? what type of connection do you have? which dashboard and windows?

I have the UnleashX dash and i have skins that i have been trying to FTP to my box all night and i cant get it to work. i have created a E:/Skins folder a put them in there and heres a question do i need to extract those files before i FTP them to the box or can i justdrag and drop them into the folder. and i have tried both ways so maybe im not even doing it right at all any help you be awesome thanks.

So you successfully do ftp from pc to xbox.
For the skins, you have to extract them first before ftp to xbox.
Where is your unleash dash at? So the Skin folder is next to it. FTP skins to that skin folder.

tell me your status of ip on pc and Xbox. how do you connect them?

i am using x-box media center i got them directly connected to eachother wit a cat5e cable
ip address 192.168.0.3
netmask 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.0.1
dns server 192.168.0.4
when im offline it says no route to host and when im online it says connection time out

hmm...
I dont have experiences with XBMC. I can't help you on this. Unless you can go to another dashboard.

is you xbox set to static and if its not go into your system settings and change it when you do you should see your ip for your box that all you need and your subnet mask but thats always the same. once you have that ip go to your PC and go to your connect to tab in your start menu. click on it then go to show all connections. then right click on your LAN or highspeed internet icon, go to properties it brings up another box scroll all the way down then click once on the internet protocol then click on the properties button it will bring up another box it should be set to find IP automatically. chang it to use the following IP address. ok where it says IP put the IP that you got from you Xbox when you changes it to static and then put in the subnet mask the 255.255.... after you do that click ok it will automatiacally close the box and you are back to the one before it click close then you should be ready to go to you FTP program (FlashFXP for me) the hit F8 for quick connection. that will bring up a box in the server put the IP you got from your Xbox user name is xbox and password is xbox dont touch anything else once you have done that hit connect and it should work.
hope this helps this is how i do it.

ok here try this change your ip on your box to 192.168.0.20 then make sure it is static.
then go to your pc and change it to the same thing try this

did still didnt work on my config it got ftp user name and it has an up and down arrow and the two things that are on it are ?-1? and ?0? is this what im suppose to change and if so how cuz i think thats the problem

it should be under you system settings
i have never used XBMC as dash but let me check and see if i can find the settings
have you changed your dash to XBMC and if so what was your original dash from your mod, because i have several dashes but i cant ftp unless it is on the dash that i installed when i modded my box

ok here the thing you cant mess with your system settings from XBMC that i can tell i tried to get to it by no luck
im pretty sure you need to access that sort of information from your original dash that you installed from you softmod

you bought it with the XBMC as the dash? hmmmmmm well i would try that because if you do get evox on there then you should set it to be your main dash then i no that you can access it from there because i have got to my settings and been able to change them i would try that but make sure that you make it your default dash
