Since you seem to know a little about FTP, I was wondering if it was possible to FTP a whole game, such as Halo 2 for instance, because my dvd drive doesn't work.

Which dvd drive? xbox dvd drive? Where is halo2? on PC?
Since your xbox's dvd drive does not work, so you need to have halo2 on PC. Then you can ftp it to xbox's hdd.

well can someone tell me step by step, how to set up the FTP connection to my xbox to take the maps off, to mod them, i cannot leave my DNS blank it will not allow me to, i have a diffent type of moden then you are all probly used to, it is a 2 Wire Modem from SBC, can somebody please explain how to do this. thanks.

@junez did you make evox your default dash or when you reboot does it come back up with xbmc
Anybody know anyone who could make em a sweet signature picture involving Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 and the words "FF7_4ever"???

ok well you should be able to go to the settings and all and change the thing to static and if it already is there then you should be able to just put that number into Flash FXP or whatever your using.
and you have been going into your connections on your PC and canging it from find IP automatically to using the one that is from your Xbox?

i've always been confused on my FTP cuz i'm not even using a hub and i can still use straight throu cables to FTP haha idc as long as it works :P i don't use flashftp cuz it was confusing i juss use the internet explorer :P its easy for me... but i had to set up an xtra network thing for my xbox but i got that its easy

The IP should show on dashboard as same as you set it on the settings.
If it changed, then you have DHCP instead of Static.

tried your way and i get this message come up when trying to connect as follows :- no dns server addresses from the dhcp or pppoe server. enter the dns server(s) provided by your isp in the network settings menu by the way i use tiscali as my isp and this message comes up when it as found the cable connections then searches but cant far as the second lot with out saying this message hope you can help thanks

how do you connect xbox to pc?
connect xbox to pc. turn on pc and xbox.
On the dashboard look for IP address. Is that the address that you assigned for xbox?
Look at the system tray on PC. do you see 2 little computer that connected?

a cross over network cable in the back of the xbox and in the back of the computer and then find your ip on the dashboard of your xbox

Ok im goin nuts I have read everything and tryed everything im missing something Im using a crossover cable to connect my xbox and pc I did the ip thing and still nothing I keep getting connection timed out, im using FlashFXP well trying to, my dash is evox here are ips i got

i have a wireless connect on my pc do i use that connection to set the ip, the only other thing in my network connections is 1394 net adapter and i was also told i had to fill in the DNS is that true

DO not use wireless or 1394 adapter.
Setting on the Local Network Connection. To go there, just goto properties of Network Neighborhood.
