when i turn on my xobx i get an error 5. yes its modded x2 v2.6 solfmod. it was working fine then all the senden. I get this error and falshes red to green. Yes i have tried the suto intaller dics on dvd and cd dics and will not even read it? YEs I reflashed it also /(the chip) HELP!!!! ANYONE?

Error 5= drive unlocked

Find out why your chip isn't booting then run slayers or any other auto installer and lock the drive. You only ever get this error when trying to boot the ms dash, so there is something up with your chip install..

In particular with the symptoms check the D0 point..grey wire goes under the board...

I dont have any wires. I got the solderless adtper. from what i c tell it in right. any other ideas ?

Check that the little springy gold wire is making good contact.. Try the other bios bank.. Then start puzzling, If the D0 point is making good contact it will boot a slayers..or if you get to the Flashbios screen just lock the drive..

ok i look and redid it the little wire is on the do point.could the cip be messed up? i already re flahed it with the flash 3.0.3 and the bios?

I think i refalshed it on the wrong bank. Bank 1 insteed of 2. Would that be a prob? did I go over the main prob? (blue screen) Is that why i getting that error and it will not boot up like it should? Yes i look and the chip and redid the do point. All look good. smae place where its was when it worked before? Anu ideas ?

So if I get that right you are getting the blue Flashbios screen?

In the menu on the left there should be a listing to lock the drive..

Check that the chip is actually flashing the bios...middle switch to the right.

But as you say it was working before sooo ??

I went and had a look around and came up with this..

All I can think of is either the D0 or maybe it's a 1.6 bios you flashed with.. Is the chip coming to life as normal (lights on etc?)

welll i mgiht have found the prob MAYBE. MY soderless adepter the little wire go to the do point. seem it was loose. I broke it off.So now i got to get anther one. IF you know a cheep plce to get it be great!!! i paid 30 for it fom uk kanection. bad mistake. If u know of a place where i can get one where i dont have to send toes and fingers with it thxs !

First thing... It's on the megaupload link..when the screen first opens there is a box that says "wait 45 seconds" when the timer gets to about 20 seconds a window pops up with some really sad ads in it..This window is movable and the download button is where the timer was..

For the broken wire, a friend broke his and used one single strand out of some mains cable..he can't solder so he wrapped it around the post 7 or 8 times then wedged it in the D0 point.. It seems to work ok for him.. Unfortunately "kynar wire" that is used for ps2 modding is too thick.. If you have a defunct dial type telephone around the wire on the coils is perfect.. It's lacquered so you need to scrape it at the ends to get a contact..

If you decide in the future to buy a new adapter I use these guys http://www.mrmodchips.co.uk
