saugmon - Yeah a Great Bargain on Crap Media At OFFICEDEPOT ! Don't you just live for sales like that ! I guess I'll Hold out for a Buy one get two free sale on the OFFICEDEPOT/Riteks If they ever have one of those sales again ! Oh well There's always Next week's sale tight ? Or Bestbuy if the Sony'sare MIJ's Happy Shopping saugmon !

Fortunately the nearest Best Buy to me has a Wally Mart right across the street ... The Best Buy usually doesn't have the MIJ Sony discs, but WM does .. and price matches

Saugmon, you said that the 19" acer flat screen monitor is a hell of a deal. Would you recommend that one or the Envision 19" wide-screen LCD monitor for 239.94? I am going to purchase one for my mother and was wondering which would be the better deal.
One thing for sure... I will NOT be picking up the memosux from staples!!

Just bought two spindles of sony MIJ's at bestbuy. (only the DVD-R's were MIJ the +R's were all MIT).

I bought the Staples Sony Dvd+r's and got one MIJ and one MIT. Both were the crappy Sony D21. Crappy stuff.

those sonyd21 arent bad. much better than the memosux or tdk.
i just did go thru the sunday ads and all i found was that best buy sale. i just hadnt logged onto here.. just wanted to make sure that i didnt miss something. the best buy i go to usually has some MIJ sony's.. will be going today.

Looks like its the end of an era. Just went to Best Buy and all they had were MIT DVD's 16X's with a round spacer on the top. Anyone know who still sells sonys that are MIJ?

yeah same here, no MIJ's...they had tons of 8x MIJ 25packs...which i know are TY's...too bad they werent on sale.

I guess it depends on the Wal-Mart whether they have MIJ's at all. Went to three different ones and they had no MIJ discs of any brand. At least BB had -R that were MIJ's, so if that's your flavor you might as well buy them on sale there.
I also noticed that Wal-Mart's regular price on 50pk Sony DVD's was $17 LESS than BB's regular price. That put the final nail in the coffin for me where BB is concerned. When I feel like getting ripped off, I may shop there again. Otherwise I'll stick to Rima or Supermediastore.

Busy getting Jiggy with it LOL! just kidding ! Interesting ? what exactly were the respective non- sale / regular prices for wallyworld and bestbuy ? I know bestbuy's regular prices on DVD nedia are very inflated ! But to their credit they run sales on media nearly every week ! And nobody I know ever buys media at Bestbuy or any other major retailer when it's full price ! unless they're completely lost or foolish ! Wallyworld prices are the same nearly everyday & they almost never have media ON SALE though they do price match ! I can vouch for that! At my local Superwally The SONY DVD+R's are MIJ -the DVD-R'S are Taiwan go figure ! Main thing is Buy on sale Jigen my buddy & price match at wallyworld if it's apples & apples & they are closer ! Also You can as you have said make excellent deals on media online ! But often the shipping will bring the price up to what you would pay localy ! Now if the vendor has free shipping & the price is Great Then your in dude ! well That's my .02 cents well .01& 1/2 cents adjusting for inflation ! Good luxk with your dvd endeavors& happy Burning !

At my BB the regular price on the Sony's was $39.95. Over all wally, the price was $23 something, so about $16-$17 difference. I know wal-mart matches so I took the ad with me, but no dice. Every single disc brand they had (and it's pretty slim) was made in Taiwan, so basically I just wasted gas.

sorry to hear that you've wasted valuable gas money (with the price of gas being so ridiculously high nowadays)...it DOES vary from location to location whether or not you will find the MIJ Sony's @ walmart~ :)
i happen to live in an area where bestbuy is significantly closer than the nearest walmart, so that is the reason i rarely venture out that far looking for media...while the selection of MIJ media is becoming few and far between for me locally, perhaps i'll have to re-evaluate the "driving expense" to go searching...
hope you can find SOMETHING to your liking locally...good luck to you too, there is always the online retailers that you mentioned to fall back on if you are in need of GOOD quality media~ :)
