I picked up a pristine copy off e-bay. I want to back this up, will shrink do the job w/o loosing too much of the detail? I would burn the "movie" only,no frills. The movie is 3&1/2 hrs. I'm using anydvd to decrypt. Suggestions? Thank you!

Try using DL media, this will eliminate almost all shirnkage. Otherwise, make sure that you eliminate all unneeded audio and subtitle tracks, and if you use any menu, change it to a still instead of a motioned menu.

If you use a DL 9GB disc, there won't be a need to do anything but duplicate the disc. Use Verbatim DL +Rs quality media.

I happen to backup this movie two weeks ago using CloneDVD 2. I did a DL & a normal one encoding the main movie alone. DL quality is still the best but the compressed one is not too bad. Should be able to do on Shrink.

Many thanks for the help, I'll give it a shot. My burner doesn't do DL's, so either I do the 2 disc or shrink. Is there a way I can use shrink to burn 2 discs?
Cheers...have a great week!

I am not sure whether Shrink can split the DVD into 2 disks but you can encode only the movie on a single layer. Should be good enough.

Shrink can do it. I haven't done it and this link is not complete but it will give you an idea how to do it.
