Hi all just wondering if it is Safe to downgrade a white psp jap 2.0 to 1.5 using the MPH Downgrader.

yes its safe. just don't unplug the power, or remove the battery or memory stick while downgrading.

dam where u get a 2.00 white one? when mine finally arrives it will be 2.50 so ive heard , and i aint buying from lik-sang ever again!!!!

I got mine from ebay , though you have to look hard for a 2.00 as most of them have already upgraded past 2.00 now.

Ebay is good for PSPs , some people are selling white ones with 1.5 already on them.

To downgrade from 2.0 here is what you do.
You are going to need this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3
and this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4
1. Take the h.dat and the index file and put them in your root folder(next to psp and umdemulator)
2. Take overflow.tiff and put it in your PSP/Photo Menu.
3. Make a new folder in your PSP/GAME CALLED UPDATE. Put the 1.5 upgrade in there.
4. Go to your photo menu, and press down. You should see a black screen with white letters. If not turn your psp off and try again. do not downgrade til you see the black screen with the white letters, this is a very important step
5.After you see the black screen with the white letters wait 30 seconds turn you psp off and turn it on again, Go to the game menu through your PSP and click the 1.5 update. make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X to start the downgrade
Your psp is going to get to 99% and say that the update failed. This is perfectly normal. Wait 30 seconds after this happened and turn your psp off.
6. Turn your psp back on its going to say an error happened. This is normal as well. Just rebuild your psp like it instructs you to do.
7. You now have a 1.5 psp

Lol, I clean my psp everyday, I just realise something, when I tried to put a pic as wallpaper, it doesn't show the option to set, any program for 1.5 to set the pic as wallpper?

The normal nylon stuff that came with it, and I put it in a case, or in the stand to make sure no dirt goes in, and I seal the openings with dust caps for more protection :)
Also, my friend has a GTA UMD and i downgraded his psp, how can he play his GTA UMD again, I know its posible. I'm just a bit confused

he can play gta with mph
set emulation mode to none in umdemulator.
then mph will boot up the umd.
the only way currently to set pics as wallpapers that i kno of is with pspset and pspersonalize.

Do I need the Flash stuff that take up loads of space like 20 mb, cause my friend only has a 32mb stick. Doesn't runUMD work?

run umd dies after 10 minutes and there are other things that will make it crash faster..
he can try genesis loader, but if that doesnt work he will have to use mph and yea he will need the flash folders.

Genesis loader mysteriously crashes at the same time (10 mins after). Many people say that it is just a copy of runUMD with no improvements.
