I can't seem to back up my games. I had success in creating a back up disc for one of them but I can't seem to get it right for the rest of them. I created the xiso's using craxtion 3.1 and burned them onto dvd-r's. The dashboard (evox) recognizes the discs as "game" but it just stays at the launch screen. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I've tried using 120% and dvd decryptor both on the lowest write speed, which is 4x for 120 and 1x for decryptor. Decided to add that part to eliminate some questions about my problem. Also, I made a backup disc of halo 2 and I only includded absolutely necessary files such as the .xbe files etc. and only one map file. That disc worked fine. could the problem be that I am trying to create too big of a disc (3.5 gb)?

I've never experienced the problem you have with it refusing to launch the game, but it could possibly be craxtion's fault. I have had some issue with craxtion creating discs that loaded slow or screwed up my selection menu, and a few that were "patched" by craxtion that ended up slightly screwy.
Qwix on the other hand seems to be able to create a good ISO without these problems, so I stick with that one for most discs I do.

I tried using quix and I got the same problem, it just stays at the evox launch screen. I successfully backed up "Black" and created a partial halo 2 back up disc fine, but when ever I try and backup an entire game it doesn't work for some reason.

If you managed to acquire the PAL version of Black it will only play through the Avalaunch dash.

just an idea but make sure you burn them at the slowest speed possible.

"If you managed to acquire the PAL version of Black it will only play through the Avalaunch dash."

not sure where you came up with that one, but it's wrong.
i know a few people running the PAL version of that game who are not using Avalaunch. most of them use UnleashX

I have the PAL version of black and it plays fine for me with EvoX both off the DVD and HDD, but my system is also chipped.
I use Craxtion4 to do all my "creat a DVD" functions and have yet to have one that did not work.

3.5GB is not too big, 4.5GB would be but not 3.5GB
It could be the brand media you are using as well.
Usually the problem people have with bad media is that the Xbox will not even recognize it as a game, which yours does.
I have done both Black and Halo2 and had no problems.
go through the method you use when making the back up step by step so people know exactly what you are doing to create the ISO.

Alright here is my step by step process, oh an I use sony dvd-rs as my media.
1. Ftp to box
2. transfer all files to a folder on my destop
3. select all of the necessary files, I'll use halo 2 as an example: default.xbe dashupdate.xbe, downloader.xbe, and update.xbe, the bink files that I want, all of the media folder, and the maps that I want.
4. I then create an xiso using craxtion 3.1 or quix of those files
5. burn the xiso using dvd decryptor, Nero, or alcohol 120
6. put into xbox, reads as "Game" in evox dash
7. hit "launch dvd"
8. box goes to launching screen and stays there

Somebody else recommended that I post my evox.ini:
