DVD playing problem

Hey guys, I just bought a new DVD and it is not a copy. When I put it in any of my DVD players it wont play. and themessage says "Cannot play due to regional restrictions." I bought this original video off of ebay and its from another country. Is there any way to get this original DVD to play.

If the DVD is region restricted you need to make the DVD region-free by reburning the DVD with the region protection removed or use a region free player. You likely don't have a region free standalone player so your options are to view it on a computer using software and/or hardware that overcomes the region encoding or reburn it as a region free DVD. You may also have a video signal coding problem depending on where you live and where you obtained the DVD, i.e., PAL vs NTSC.

Depending on the make and model of your DVD player you may be able to find a region free hack. Do a search in Google and have a look on eBay. I downloaded a region hack for my Sony DVD Recorder for £2 a while back, although I haven't tried it yet. Be warned though, im almost sure this will invalidate your warranty. Laddyboy's suggestion is probably your best option.

as laddyboy said you can remove region protection by re-burning the disc,
however you may not need to do this as you may be able to just set your player to region free depending on what dvd player you have.
what make & model dvd player do you have?

ummm I have two DVD players. I use my PS2 as a DVD player. And I also have a Toshiba SD-412VC.

there is no code for the toshiba to make it region free :-(
you will have to use decrypter or similar & reburn the disc.

there are all kinds of brands that can be made region free. you usually have to change some settings with the remote or buttons.

ok thanks for the link. I burned the DVD. I used DVD Decrytper and DVD Shrink, and when I put the burnt copy in my DVD player it says not NTSC. What does that mean, and what can I do?

Hello,
I'm a newbie to all of this. I have a problem with the audio on DVD playback using pre-recorded commercial discs. I'm using Power DVD XP (version 4.00.2417) on Windows XP Home and my DVD is an
NEC ND-3550A. The audio has scratchy noises that sound almost like dragging a needle across a record (for those of you who remember what that even is!...lol). Each time it will last for only a second or so. On some DVD's the noise happens every few minutes, on others it's almost constant. The picture seems fine (tracks fine), although I think the quality could be better.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this?
I would appreciate any help!
