hi i'm new to the who hd advance and hd loader, i've been reading for the past two days and don't quite understand what is needed. I've manage to get a few copy of hd loader of the net, but when burn and try to launch it in my ps2 it just said "Please put in a ps1 or a ps2 disc". now my question is what do i need to do to get the disc to boot? i've burn the file that i downloaded using alcohol 120%, is there some kind of extra step that i must take first in order to get it to boot on my ps2? or do i need some kind of special mod to get it to read a burn disc?

You'll either need swap magic or a modchip to load something you've burnt on CD/DVD. Otherwise you can buy HDAdvance, which is a pressed disc, i.e. you can load it with a normal PS2

I have a ? dan. I have hd loader elf file and its on a flash drive, and i used swap magic 3.6 cd to load it. It loads, but can it transfer games to my hd like hd advance can or does hd loader only format the drive for you?

Hmm I'm not sure sorry, for me when I want to transfer something, I take out the HDD from the PS2 and plug it to the computer to do it (using an external USB case as I have a laptop), I do that because I want to be nice to my laser and make it last, or sometimes when I don't burn the games onto a DVD first, I can copy the game directly from my HDD on my laptop to the USB one (by mounting the game ISO to a virtual drive)

But anyway to answer your question, I'm not sure sorry, as I've never tried it :(

@desmet9
hdloader can rip games to the HDD just like HDA, all HDAdvance is is a cheap rippoff of hdloader thats pressed to a disc.
