Even with the discount, I can't afford both AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I'm leaning towards buying CloneDVD because it is so easy. What program or programs can I add to Clone, that would give me the same "effect" as AnyDVD?

Or should I buy AnyDVD and find another program that will match Clone's easiness?

Buy AnyDVD. You can always try alot of free programs such as DVDshrink to replace CloneDVD but there is nothing that does what AnyDVD does period. I would really try to get both if you can though. They work together seemlessly.

I concur, with AnyDVD you can use DVDdecrypter to rip to Hd and DVDShrink to encode and compress and either DVDdecrypter or imgburn to burn to disc with no problems.

Get the AnyDVD you will not regret it.

Get the other programs here:

DVDDecrypter: http://mrbass.org/dvdrip/
DVDShrink: http://mrbass.org/dvdshrink/
imgburn: http://www.imgburn.com

Cheers. I used this system for a long time with virtually flawless backups before I finally got CloneDVD2.

Thanx 4 replying everyone. I can't imagine splitting the two programs, but everything else is so complicated (I'm a total Noob)and DVD Shrink takes 7 hours just to encode (my computer is old and only has 128mb sdram). So CloneDVD was my best friend. But it does make sense to get AnyDVD and wait to get Clone. Thanks again you guys;)

@babie220,

You are aware when you buy the two programs together, they are discounted to $59 instead of $78? Until May 7th, Slysoft is offering an addition $5 discount for each program by entering Afterdawn in the code area, so you are looking at $49 for both.

I do agree, if you can only buy 1, AnyDVD will be your most invaluable tool, especially with the frequent updates.

I concur, if you can only purchase one .. get AnyDVD because CloneDVD isn't much good without a program such as AnyDVD and you can use a myriad of programs with AnyDVD
