Having troubles with Burning DVD w/WINAVI

OK, I have been using Nero 6 (the latest version of 6) for awhile. Recently, I have been turning .avi files into DVD files (VOB) to burn the .avi onto a DVD-R disc. Now I have Sony DRU-720A and always use memorex -R either 8x-16x. Now when I burn the movie and test it on the DVD player it is off center and is half on the screen and also Black and White with not good quality. I know one thing I didnt do is re-author (dont know if necessary) but will try now. any Help would be greatly appreciated

sounds like a region problem make sure you set everyting to NTSC and 4:3 if you live in america that is,if you live in euro then make sure your converting to PAL.....
