How is this Slide Card supposed to work?

I figured out how to open the disc tray, but when I put in a backup DVD and try to load it just spins and buzzes and makes a clicking sound. Is there something you have to do when closing the disc tray besides just closing it shut? Help Me!!! I don't want to have to buy a slim PS2.

Reverse the process you went through to open your PS2 - from memory you have to slide the card in, move it to the right, then pull the tray out, so reverse this when you put the tray back in: push the tray in, move the card to the left, slide the card out :)
