Magic switch tool c not working with my new xcm case on slimline ps2

Hello everybody,
I recently purchased a new transparent xcm case for my slimline ps2, along with the xcm 240 light kit. I fitted the new case and the light kit, which was hard to fit because the light kit has a switch, but there is nowhere to put it, and there are no instructions to help!
I then closed up the new case, and began fitting the magic switch tools which i had taken out of my normal black case. All the pieces were put in their correct places, so i began to test the new dragon quest game. I put swap magic in, closed the lid and turned on the console. Once it was time to put in my backup, i opened the lid, but at the same time the tool C moved out of its place, which restarts the console. Now all i can do is hold down the piece while i open the lid to put the backup in, so its beginning to annoy me abit.

Does anybpdy know why this is happenning, or how i could prevent it. I read somewhere that it would be fixed by putting some tape over the tool C, but i have a transparent blue case, and the tap would ruin its effect.

Please help me!

modded cases are s%$t for swap magic i suggest u put the original case back on, its a matter of looks or gameplay im afraid,

I'm pretty sure once you have a case, you don't need the tools, right?...

Thanks for the help but i am certain that a new case still needs the tools because without them the ps2 still acts like a normal console, the sensor will still detect the lid is opening unless the tools are put in. The only tool which is not needed with a new case is the piece which goes where the disk break is, because it doesnt seem to have that spring the normal ps2 case has.

Is there any way to open up the case and cover up tool c somehow with something?

yeah getting a fliptop case is also an option, but seeing as i've just spent 30 quid on my new transparent case & lights, spending dosh on another case is a no no.
