alright i had a xecuter 3 CE modchip and i accidently earased my M$ dash and now i cant go online...but i kina got rid of the chip so i dont know if i can still fix it, but im gona be getting softmods instead so i was wondering if i could still use the auto installer disk 3.0 and get back the M$ dash on that...and if you could tell me which cd to burn it to would be best for a thomsons harddrive and give me a link to a manual on how to burn it and run it or a link to a manual...i would appriciate it..:\

yes but i have to boot it and wait for it to go to error 13 screen(no m$ dash) and then open up the tray...put in the disk then shut it off and boot it again and it runs the game.

Why not put the auto installer disc into your PC, there is a copy of a retail M$ dash, C folder on the AID disc, copy it to your PC. Put the AID v3 disc in your Xbox, set your IP address to match your PC's network FTP into your Xbox delete the entire C folder then transfer the C folder you copied to your PC earlier this should solve your issue.

i cant ftp because i dont have ne dash at all, because i returned my modchip and i dont have softmods saved to my hdd, so will the auto installer disk even boot w/ out a modded dashboard?

Well, if that indeed is the scenario, you are gonna need a chip. You should be able to find a Spider Chip v1.1 for about $30. I highly recommend that even if you, have a hard or soft modded Xbox that this chip be kept in cases of emergency because on all Xbox versions except a v1.6, you only deal with one wire thats the d0, once you place it on the board correctly, fire it up and it will boot then you can just pop in a Slayer's or AID disc and recover by re-installing your M$ Dash. I will admit that its not the most stable chip to use fulltime but for disaster recovery you can't beat it.
