The Sony MADE IN JAPAN DVD media are Taiyo Yudens in the DVD+R format! atleast in the 8x disc - The MIJ - Sony 8x DVD-R are'nt Taiyo Yuden's - They'll code out as Sony's with the same code as the made in Taiwan sony's ! Though I would prefer them to the Taiwan made sony's if I could get them ! The ACCUCORE thing is Basically advertising Spin - Like Springtime fresh - really does'nt mean Squat! as to why the Sony's make better Quality copies than the Taiyo Yudens released under Taiyo Yudens own name - according to Nero's Disc quality test ? Well two things I don't use nero so I don't have that feature ! and as long as the scores are within a few points of each other I eould'nt worry too much either way ! I judge the quality of media by the actual visual quality of the playback - No [ixelating freezing or jumping ! & longevity - Some inexpensive media will record your backup copies of your DVD just fine - Try watching that copy in the future ! perhaps a week , a month , six months or a year later and more than likely it will be unplayable or atleast unwatchable ! Taiyo Yudens & verbatims Both have a good history when you factor that in ! Better quality dyes & better Quality control as well ! All this being said If you get better scores and you can see a difference using Sony labeled Taiyo Yudens over Taiyo Yuden's Own media ( Produced for taiyo yuden for their own company to sell as Taiyo Yuden media ) Then By all means use the Sony Mij ( Taiyo Yudens ) if Not I would use either one ! whichever I liked better or could get the best price on ! t that's just me my friend ! use what you like , What works well for you & what makes you happy !
