Hey guys

Not sure if anyone can help me with this, but would be appreciated.

Once I have "aquired" a movie in AVI or MPG format I convert it to dvd (ISO) format using DVD santa. Thing is it seems to be hit and miss, a lot of times the AVI file works fine beforehand, but when i convert it and watch it on my PC to test it the audio is about 2-3 minutes ahead of the video.

I would think its a setting wrong with DVD santa if it wasn't converting correctly 50% of the time.

The only thing I change on dvd santa is to choose PAL instead of NTSC as I am in UK.

Cheers for any help

I don't use Santa, but many times these types of synch issues are due to the VBR sound in those "aquired" AVI files. Try converting the sound to DVD compatible audio seperately from the video and you'll probably see many of your issues disappear.

just wondering did you download this file? there is a program caled avi sicnc or some thing like that if the file is not to far gone you might be able to fix it if not you could just find another place to get the file, also what is the movie? good luck, so you are not sure what type of file it is ? if it is an avi file and you want a good program to convert to dvd use vso dvixtodvd verry good program, and it dose a good conversion

Thanks for the help guys.

Yes it is AVI files I am trying to convert, I downloaded the first 3 episodes of lost season 2 in AVI format. They work fine in windows media player as AVI files but when i convert with santa the audio gets thrown off by a couple of minutes and also the video freezes up.

Not sure what has caused this as I swear I never used to have problems with Santa. Was talking to a friend and he suggested a windows auto update could have messed with something so suggested to try a rollback to a couple months ago.

I will try vso dvixtodvd, thanks for the suggestion.
