If you go to psp-hacks.com it hosts the files you need to run the ISO files. You will need to download umd emulator v0.8c and fastloader v0.7. It will probably be worth googling for mphloader if you want to play GTA LCS and downloading that too. Once you have the files check out the guides on here, I've found them very helpful.

Emulators, imitate a certain hardware (this can be a game system such as a SNES, or it can be a UMD).

Fastloader is the name of a homebrew ('homemade') app that can be used to run ISOs (images of retail UMDs) off your memory stick.

How to run the games on your PSP:
First of all you need to buy a USB cable, (make sure it is a mini USB to large USB cable).
Download UMD Emulator V0.8c (from here:http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/92).
Extract the contents of the archive to your PSPs memory stick. (Attach the USB cable to your PSP and computer, and on your PSP go to Settings-->USB Mode . Then your computer should recognise your PSP as a removable disk drive.)
Most likely on the DVD you have, it has ISOs of the games. Copy these ISOs to X:\ISO\ where X is the drive letter of your PSP
Now on your PSP get out of USB mode and go to Game-->Memory Stick, scroll down to UMD Emulator and press X.
Insert a UMD (it can be any UMD, but you must insert one)
For running the games you have now, I don't thnk you need to change the default settings. Just scroll down to the ISo and press X, and your game will start!

If you don't have any UMDs, then you will have to use the DevHook launcher (download it from here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/91). Just follow the instructions in the readme.

Hope this helped,

Please can anyone help, I recently bought a 1.5version psp from ebay. I now have three problems

1. On trying to load iso's fastloader is telling me to copy the fastloader files to the MP_ROOT folder on my psp, I haven't got this folder. Can I just create it?

2. It also tells you to put the extracted files in the fastloader iso folder and then go to your memory stick to activate the games, my psp is just saying there are no games.

3. It also says you need a umd inserted into your psp, I haven't got one of these either??!!!

Am I completely shafted or can I get this to work?

Very Quick Help is needed before I go completely mad!!!!!!

Just create it

2. It also tells you to put the extracted files in the fastloader iso folder and then go to your memory stick to activate the games, my psp is just saying there are no games.

Its because when you make that ISO folder in the root of your memory stick, that is where you put the ISO games in

You can use the demo disk, Any UMD will work

Am I completely shafted or can I get this to work?

Thank you for your help!!!

But I haven't got a demo disc!!! I have read you can use devhook but when I download this i don't know where to put it on the psp to make it work.

Also how do you play the games once they are in the iso file and the psp is still telling me there is no game on the memory stick.

I know I am a complete idiot but once I can do it once I should be fine.

Thank you again for any assistance you can give!!!

You can't launch the ISO directly from your memory stick.

Download DevHook from here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/download.php?id=445

In this archive there should be a folder called ms, extract the contents of this folder into the root of your memory stick (not in MP_ROOT but in the root of your memory stick i.e X:\ where X is the drive letter of your PSP).

You should have these three new folders on your memory stick:
X:\PSP\GAME\DEVHOOK
X:\PSP\GAME\DEVHOOK%
X:\150\
X:\ISO\ <--This is where you put your ISOs

(where x is the drive letter of your memory stick).

If you have those folders in your memory stick, when you go to Game-->Memory Stick you should see an Icon for Devhook. Scroll to it and press X. Then once it has loaded, scroll to the ISO you want and press X, you will be taken back to the system menu, and your PSP will think you have a UMD inserted, scroll to the UMD icon and press X and your game should start!

Thanks for all your help I think I have got the hang of it now, one last really thick question, if the zipped iso is in parts how do I load this on to the psp. i can't load each part as they are all called the same thing (the game is exit by the way), i have tried an iso splitter/joiner programme but fastloader will not play it and just shuts down. I have tried the command prompt thingy but it doesn't find the files and I am now stuck?
