I have been successfully backing up my movies using DVD Decrypt for several months now. I decrypt the files to my hard drive and then burn them to CD. The last two movies (new releases) that I have tried to decrypt have both run into an error during the decryption process. About 20 minutes into the process each time it brings up an I/O error and allows me to 'abort', 'retry' or 'cancel'. Retrying doesn't help nor does anything else as the movie does not successfully decrypt. Is there new encryption being added to the new DVD's? Can anyone help with this problem?

DVDFab Decrypter Express. It updates on a regular basis and it is free. Unless you are burning with DVD-9's you may also need DVD Shrink.

Actually I ran into the same problem with DVDfab Express. It didn't come up with an error, it simply got stuck and kept trying to read the same track for about fifteen minutes before I aborted it.

Why did you abort it. If you are decrypting straight from the DVD it normally takes 30 to 45 minutes to decrypt. That particular file that you only gave 15 minutes to may have been the main VOB! Try it again. Give it about 45 min. to run (unless your computer is running a processor slower than 2 gigs, it may take a little longer.)

Unless you recieve an error, don't stop the process. If all else fails get a free trial of AnyDVD!
