My network adaptor and CAT5 cable just came in the mail today. I connected the CAT5 cable in the ethernet slot of the ps2 than into my wireless router. I put the start-up disc in and went through all the settting but it seems i cant get a "Successful connection" insted im getting "connection failed, DNAS Error". I have a wireless router and comcast ISP. Can someone tell me step by step on what to do or just send me to a guide that helps with router configuration. I know that port forwarding is invovled but the guides i've read or not SPECIFIC. I have searched alot and i don't even know what to do. PLease Help

Here are some things to look for:
Make sure your wireless router is giving out IP addresses (DHCP server)
Make sure your network adapter is configured for Automatic IP address and Automatic DNS server
You don't need to worry about port forwarding for your PS2.

That really should be it. If your connection test still fails, plug a computer into your router and make sure you can get to the internet (your router may not be configured properly).

i had exactly the same problem. On my router i had to make sure that i had the right ports opened for the p2s. if u read the faqs on the startup disc they give lots of help. also the dmz needs to be set to your ip address. i used a dlink wireless adapter so i dont know if its the same as yours but i hope this helps a little

i see, well i think when you said "right ports opened" you were talking about port fowarding. Can you be a bit more specific and tell me which ports you set your ps2 to? What are your router settings considering the ps2? what FAQ's are you talking about? i don't see any deal with this topic

sorry i was in a rush last time. well on my router settings i had to allow the ps2 to access it. i "port forwarded" tcp ports 10070-10080. also there is a setting on my router called dmz that i had to enable to the isp of my ps2. the faqs are on the startup disc that comes with the network adapter. under like help or something. it has all the ports and a few other good tips. i didnt have to really do anything with my ps2 the only things i had to change were on my router.

Thankx, i found out that the problem was the CD so i tried setting up my online connection through a game instead. It said my connection was successful, so when i go to play a game everything is going well until i get the the "Authenticating DNAS" and than my ps2 freezes. I know you have to patch the game but i thought the crystal chip lets you play backups online. I have no idea how to get online..
