hi
i've been looking through lots of posts on this site but the more i read the more confused i get..
i'm interested in buying a psp with v2.60 but before i would like to know if it can play iso back ups..
i know that there are no probs with v1.50 and i know that v2.60 can run homebrew but can it run isos?

ah thanks mate that certainly will deter me from buying a psp then until they find a solution for it, if they find that is since it's been ages out there and only homebrew can run on it..

You can still buy a V1.5 new if you want, then you can run homebrew and ISO's

I am new to this forum. my psp is running 2.6. How can I run a game on my memory stick. what is homebrew and ISO? please advice. Thanks.

No you can't downgrade from any firmware higher than 2.00 .

However you can run most homebrew (keep in mind that not all apps are supported) using the GTA eLoader (you must have a UMD of GTA to do this)

Many thanks for your reply. If I may ask. I am new to the PSP world and terms as well. What is homebrew and GTA. Will I need the memory stick any more to run games. please advice in more detail. I will go to the links you provided. Many thanks.

GTA is Grand Theft Auto (a UMD game), you must buy this UMD before you can play homebrew.

Homebrew is 'homemade' software that is not licensed by Sony (these include games, emulators and other applications).

You will need your memory stick to run homebrew. Check the links I provided for a detailed explanation.
