i'm tired of it- every time someone posts a question-some dork says, "just use anydvd, man, and click anydvd it"
some people dont want to be one click wonders- maybe some like to get in there and get our hands dirty a little, and actually learn a little about the dvd authoring process, what has to be where, and why. i count myself among these.
maybe i want to spend 10 hours encoding and re-encoding a dvd , until i get it it just as i want it- or maybe i already had it right and just wanted to do it all over again for the hell of it!
you'd swear, from the way people push it, that anydvd wakes them up softly in the morning, serves them steak, eggs, toast, and coffee for breakfast, draws them a warm bath and gently cleanses them with high grade milk-soap-then gives them a blow job, dresses them every so lovingly, pats them on the fanny, hands them the morning paper, and send them on their way to work !!
it makes me about as sick as when i look at a girl's myspace page and see on her pictures where there are like 1000 loser guys saying something like the following:
you're sooo prettyyyy duhhhhh
you have an elegant, timeless beauty
wow, what a hottie! when we goin out again? steve just called
you exude attractiveness from every pore
ect
ect
what i'd say, is roughly something like:
nice titties
wow, look at those lips! they could suck one purple!
you're pretty, not the goddess those lamers are trying to make you think you are, but you've got a great ass, and i sure wouldnt mind watching its action from behind for an hour or two!
so get real, anydvd didnt give birth to you, isnt going to pay your social security, wont bath you and wash your ass when you're old and feeble!
-dvdfabdecryptor (or, when possible, dvddecryptor) to rip
-vobblanker to strip out anything you dont want
-dvd shrink, or nero recode, to shrink to fit on a single layer disc
-imgburn(made by the guy who did dvddecryptor) to burn
(regarding nero recode, i think it's in bad taste that automatic burning with imgburn was not supported, effectively making one use nero if the person wanted automatic burning after transcoding was completed)
thoughts? ;-)

Listen..... you have your opinions and many members have theirs!~ You are not the say all for all of us and I must object to your arrogance about who should say what and does what! There are many flavors to DVD burning and yours are just one of many! If you have to use language like that then keep it to yourself! Go make trouble in the other forums and if you don't like the reply you're getting then don't ask or start a thread like this one! I'm tired of all the Newbies(meaning you!)that want answers and then throw it back at you like you're something on the bottom of ones shoe that smells! If you don't like the answers don't ask..... go elsewhere and be arrogant! People here try to help one another and you don't need strong language to get your point across! Hope I didn't hurt your feelings......... duhhhhhhhh!

There are plenty of guides on how to do it,like you say"get our hands dirty a little" if anyone bothered to do a search before asking how to backup a dvd. There is this guide for example http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 (by alkohol) and many similar well before this one wich works for any movie so far but nobody ever bothers to search,then we try to make it a little easier for you and others saying use anydvd, so they wouldnt go through al of these steps and this is the way you thank us for taking our time and helping others for free.
Get a life.

Try ripping a newer title that has newer encryption with DVD Shrink see how far you get. Try ripping any copy righted title with Nero Recode. You defiantly won?t get anywhere.
Yes you can use...
dvdfabdecryptor or DVD Decrypter but some prefer to use AnyDVD.
Where do you get off at saying AnyDVD being a 1 click program? AnyDVD has options to take out trailers etc. It also has the option to rip to the Hard Drive. Plus AnyDVD is a ripping tool not a re-authoring tool so comparing it to DVD Shrink and Nero Recode2 is pointless.
As to learning about how a DVD is structured or works or how to re-author it, maybe you should learn the differences on what certain programs do and don?t do and what they are used for.

If you don't like AnyDVD then fine but don't start an asinine crybaby thread like this. I've got no use for Nero and think Prassi ONES and CopyToDVD are far better burning apps but do you see me pitching a hissyfit about the fact that nearly everyone uses Nero to some extent or another? The answer is no because I have the maturity and common sense to know that even though I don't care for Nero it's still a very popular and useful suite of tools.
Next time you feel the need to throw a fit go write it on a piece of paper and show it to your friends because if I EVER see you act like this in the forums again I'll ban you in an instant and ban every nick you try to come back with.

It's not like AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2 don't work..
If they didn't work we wouldn't recomend them...
Yes there are free alternative ways to backup a Dvd but for the easiest way AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 are the way to go..

Gee golly; I sure do like anydvd. It's my favoritest ever. I just can't get enough of it. It's like, I'm feeling lonely; so I just go to my anydvd, and it keeps me company all day and all night. I can tell it anydvd, and it will never say a word to anyone.
