i burnt a few dvds in the last week and most of them came out choppy and would freeze or skip

the only thing i changed was i couldnt just copy them, i had to decode them, i was using dvdfab. dycrp. i think

i can watch them on my computer, no problem, but with my dvd player, i cant

i can watch the original store ones no problem, but i cant copy them and have them go smoothly :)

What brand of media did you use?
What burning program did you use?

In addition to dialysis's questions....

If you are dealing with high levels of compression in DVD Shrink you may need to use Deep Analysis and the AEC controls to smooth out your image that can freeze, stutter, pause and pixellate from compression. Use these if your compression ratio is less than 70%, also don't burn at more than 4X, use quality media and set your target size to 4300 to avoid the outer edge of the disc.

You really should not multitask while burning....can cause Coaster formation....Start the process and walk away....

The Maxells are good if made in Japan, otherwise best to steer clear of them. It is suggested no to multitask while burning...that includes surfing the web.

well what you need is to use shrink dvd and it will compresse it so it will fit on a disk. but what the sound problem is you have on checked you sound file, more than likly to fite the dvd on to your disk. try useing DVD Shrink you compress your dvd befor you go to burn it. also i have had the same problem at the begining of my burning spree with the freezing, try a slower speed on your burning, and if that don't work, you may need a different dvd player. some on the dvd players still don't play burnt dvd's.

its still freezing/skipping etc all the movies im trying to backup

its even from older movies, like the sixth sense, american pie 1

i did everything you guys told me, i slowed the burn down to 2.4 (i had it on 4, now it wont let me use 4), used dvdfab express, and then use DVD Shrink to burn it...
