I bought my husband a PSP for Christmas and the toher day I went and bought myself an Ipod with video playback.
I have trialled various software and managed to get mp4 onto the PSP. As my iPod has yet to arrive (bought from Amazon) I cannot see if I can get it to work on there.
I have noticed there are various software for PSP and Ipod but have only come across one that does both Ipod and PSP.
And now for the really dumb question.....is the video format for PSP the same as for Ipod or do I really need to get two items of software: one for each.
I have tried Lenogo for the PSP and have found it really good, but I am loathe to buy it once for PSP and the other version for iPod if they really are both doing the same thing.
Also, why does WinAVI have 'To iPod' option and 'To PSP'. Is there a difference in video format or is it only the transfer to the hardware thats different.
Can I jut get a 'to mp4' converter and transfer to hardware manually?
Hope someone can give me a better understading before I commit to buying full software (instead of trial software)
If i am correct, which i usually am, You can encode a video in mp4 format at a resolution of 320 x 240 and it will play on both.
However the ipod supports a few different video and audio formats so movie wise you may have more options, while well he will see the same movie but bigger.
They arent the same Joeva mate, IPOD has different settings and file names are different as well, but on saying that theres not much between the two.
Here is a link for totally free software from the same guys that made PSPvideo9.

sudds, my grand ol buddy, if you look at my unedited post, i didn't say they were the same, or that they could be named the same.
I just noted that they both could be in mp4 format and a res of 320/240!!!
you're still my budd tho sudds =)
