I tried this many ways. I ran them through DVD Fab then through DVD shrink and then tried to copy them with DVD decryter. I also tried to run them through DVD shrink with Anydvd running and then through DVD decrypter. Both times it tries to burn but then comes up with an error.

Any suggestions?

anydvd will do these movies. make sure you have the latest version, i believe that it is when you try to burn so this is not an encoding error, can you post an error log

A log from DVD Decrypter?

Should i rip the DVD with AnyDVD and then try to copy with DVD Decrypter?

hi i don't use decrypter to burn but you should be able to get a log by clicking on the view menu.

personally i use AnyDVD inthe background whilst i use shrink (only use decrypter if smaller files >4.7GB)

i then burn with Nero but decrypter can burn it for you.

what error does it keep saying? is it once decrypted & in the burning stage?

@lorunner

If you want to go with the FREE route, then try this method and it should be able to rip and backup any dvds/movies. The guide and movie I made for that guide is HOSTEL, which can be done with "Dick & Jane" as well. All you need to do is change the "title/movie" to whatever you want to call it.

Here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 is a guide on "how to use DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" I made for those that wanted/needed helps or interested in some FREE tools.

Best of lucks to you and happy burning!

I first tried Dick and Jane with just DVD Shrink. It came up with a destination error, than i ran AnyDVD in the background and was able to create an ISO file. DVD Decrypter would start the burn process and the buffer would go to 100% than it stops and an Error. I'll have to get the log when i get home tonite.

I also tried to burn it with Nero and it did the same thing.

Just to throw this in I have Windows Xp Media as an operating system. Would that make a differance?

Update your AnyDVD to version to 5.9.6.0 and use Nero 6 or 7 Recode2. Slysoft is great, they send you updates all the time so if you don't own a key buy it online you won't regret it. AnyDVD decrypts DVD's as well as CD's. Aside from AnyDVD get VOB Blanker (FreeWare) a must have in terms of ease of use (In "AUTO" mode). And is a Invalid DVD Navigation Structure killer (found on movies like "Menace II Society". Just think these programs do all the work for you:P

lorunner,

DVD decrypter is just having a problem with writing to those disks, you can increase decrypter's chance of success by updating the burner's firmware to version DD26, the update can be gotten here;

http://dvd-rw.hoppy.tk/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=35

Download the zip file, unzip and run it.

Also try burning at a lower speed like 4x, using better media isn't a bad idea either.

Cheers:)

The file unzips to a .cvt file, you'll need a flash utility to apply the update with.

How do you flash with a cvt file?
Click on the link to get what you need:
