Fliptop woes, I need help!!

So I just recently got a fliptop for my old ps2 (version < 4) and had a friend help me put it together. We got it all fixed up, but for some reason the ps2 is having a really hard time reading the swap magic disk (v3.6). It looked like the laser was having a hard time looking for the boot on the disk. Whenever it did manage to get to the swap magic boot page and we switched disks and hit load program the laser looked like it kept looking for the game boot but could not find it. Also there was aproblem with that little white thing (it spins with the dvd on the top of the flip cover duno the name of it) kept pushing down too much on the top of the cd and made weird noises so we had to take it out.

We tried to mess around with the laser's calibration and to no avail. My friend thinks my ps2's laser is weak but I duno.

Any suggestions for either problem would be great.

you just have to put it on perfect moreless and i would put the white thing that was on your original lids in the fliptop not the one it came with.....you probably have it too tight or not tight enough is my guess mess with the screws and see if it helps.....
