some of the new DVDs wont burn through DVDShrink 3.2 and some wont even open and be analyzed. atfirst i thought it might be the computer but it does the same on every computer. we even rented a different copy and yet the movie could not be ripped. is there a new update, or something else, i can possibly do to try and burn these new movies. (ex. Capote, Shopgirl, Squid And The Whale, etc.) i tried re0authoring but it doesnt work either.

timmybear you need more thain shrink to backup the movies that you own you need other programs like any dvd or dvd region + css free to remove the copy protection, also a heads up don't talk about trying to copy rented movies that is not allowed in the forums it could get you in a lot of trouble like banned, so keep that to your self ok? good luck and happy burnning

You can dl a trial copy of AnyDVD and use it for 21 days.

http://www.slysoft.com

You can also dl the free ripper DVDFab Decrypter and rip the file to your HDD and then use Shrink to process the file and burn with whatever program you burn with.

http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

Here is a guide, just disregard DVD Decrypter for burning if you do not use it.

hey timmy

use dvd fab decrypter, very easily. you can't set anything, but it reads and downloads the entire dvd (i had to do flightplan, capote, squid and the whale, etc., this way), and then you run it through DVD Shrink (and select what files you want), then burn with Nero. the dvd fab decrypter may take 40-50 mins (as it downloads the entire dvd), but let it run its course and then go ahead to DVD Shrink. it's ARCCOS coding, a new Sony thing. good luck.
