PSOne reading noise level

Sorry; couldn't see anywhere else to put this, as there's no actual forum for this (admittedly) outdated system

However, for fun, I just picked up a PSOne w/ that portable LCD screen for a pretty good deal today (figured maybe I could pick up some used games and play it on the road), but I have a question about the unit.

I barely ever played original Playstation games during it's generation (and then, only on the first PS model), so I'm wondering about hte normal noise level a PSOne should generate while reading a disc. My unit sounds alot like my portable CD player (I guess it's the laser thing moving on that track), and it isn't really very loud, I guess I just expected it not to barely make any sounds at all.

So I'd appreciate it if anyone with a PSOne could share their own insight as to whether mine is just making its normal sounds, or there's something off with it?

It's perfectly normal for a playstation to make a noise while the lens moves along to read the disc. Nothin' to worry about.
I'm wondering if you can help me. I'm using psx change to load backups, but for some games I need a code to load them. Could U look into this at www.megagames.com/psx.
It is a pity they don't have a forum for psone and psx discussions.
