Here's what you do. If you have the PRO, make sure you download ToxicOS to your computer. The file will be an ISO image which you can use Alcohol (recommended) or any other cd/dvd burning application to burn a "disc image" - this is important. You can't just burn the file to a cd, you have to tell your application that it's an image you need to burn and then point it to the ISO file.

Once the ISO's been burned properly, make sure your PS2 is off and then turn it on and insert the cd. You should see a menu in a few seconds and you'll press X to install the OS on your machine. DO NOT REBOOT OR DISCONNECT YOUR PS2 AT THIS TIME!!!!!!

Once the installation is complete, you'll be prompted to remove the disk and reboot - do it. Make sure you hold the R1 key as soon as you reboot your device to get into the Toxic menu and you'll be all set.

yep, what he said, very simple.
1.download
2. unzip files
3. burn CUE file to CD as an image with CD burning program
4. put in PS2 and play it
5. chip flashed

6. after it is done if you need to change or just want to look at the settings, hold down square button when you start the PS2

Are you trying to format the drive or flash the chip? How big is the hd you're trying to format? It's better to connect your hard drive to your PC and use WinHIIP to format it than to use Toxic directly.

actually the Toxic app works better. and is easier to use for a newbie.
having to open you PC, stick the HDD in, use that program to format it, take it out, close your PC, then install it in the PS2
That is just way too many steps when he could just install it in the PS2 and format it from there.

here are some useful tools for that chip as well
