I was wondering if anyone could tell me a site where they bought their clear transparent flip top case from, or that can tell me a trusted site that will deliver and not cheap me out. Thank you. The best deal i found was from estarland.com 29.95,$7.00 shipping
There are several sites out there, but I like clearxbox.com
They have clear fliptop cases for 20 bucks + shipping, and black fliptop cases for 18bucks + shipping.
Personally, I do not own a flip top case nor am I planning to buy one because they say the laser gets easily damaged/decalibrated/dirty/etc. Also, I have never bought from clearxbox.com, but my friend has and some people here recommend it.
cool. Because i wanted to buy one and i just dont want to get ripped off. Thank you rommel and steimy. Whats your problem rommel. So steimy you would recommend i go with xmodd.com?
Well xmodd.com does not have any fliptops, so im going to go with clearxbox because the site has the flip top its $20 with $7.25 shipping and it seems like a very secure site. You have to understand I have been cheated out of alot of things, such as ebay stuff, online products, etc. This is why im stressing it needs to be secure and make sure it will get to me. But to me clearxbox.com seems likea very secure site, they even havea number to call
Are the PS2 (fat model) cases hard to install if you have no real modification ability? I want an Xmodd case, but, the people setting up my install don't use them...
not hard at all. when i did mine i had never modded anything on a PS2 before, or even opened the case.
There are plenty of guides you can find on the net about opening it but basically it is just this:
1. unscrew the screws in the bottom, remember that there are screws under the rubber square feet and little square plastic pieces.
2. take off the top of the case SLOWLY starting at the back and tilting it forward. Being very careful not to pull on any ribbon cables attached to the power/eject button (silver one)
3. pop the power/eject button out of the old case and then completely remove the top
4. snap the power/eject button into the new top, carefully put it on still being very careful of that silver ribbon.
5. replace the screws, rubber and plastic pieces on the bottom.
