I was just wondering how everyone here burns their dvds. I used to burn the dvd in full disc mode which included everything on the dvd. Now lately I have been burning the movie only in reauthor mode to increase picture quality but I do miss the menus and everything. How do u backup your dvds?

Hi. I backup mine movie only because i have menus and all the extras on the original. I usually watch the backup as i love my dvds so much and dont want to scratch them(and dont want the kids making them ufo`s). But there is plenty of people here who do it with menus and all. So its up to everyone how to do it but i do main movie only because i like to keep the movie quality as best i can.I tried to shrink king kong but after watching it on my HDTV i noticed the compression so i did a two disc backup of that one.
Everyone will have their own opinion, wich will differ from others.
This is my opinion, main movie only. :-)

I do Main Movie only on the majority of mine.I also cut out all unncecessary sound streams/sub pictures/commentary/and even the beginning-ending credits. Less compression=faster backup process time.

It's also nice when you slap in one of these main movie only discs into your stand alone player. No more trying to find the remote to get through the menus. Auto play as soon as you insert them!

Now with my riske~ ones, gotta do entire disc on those babies.Using AEC enhancement of Max smoothness and max sharpness helps out the quality, otherwise I get a blocky look to the entire backup during playback.

Basically it comes down to: Can you live without the bonus footage on certain dvds?

Decrypter to HD/vobblanker if needed it/shrink/IMGburn to burn.
yes, these are more steps than what is needed it but i don't mind, i, in fact, enjoy it.
oh. yes. always main movie only.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

For me, it's main movie and soundtrack only also. Most of the movies I copy are the ones I buy for the children. I hate standing there waiting through the PUO's for the menu. I pop the disk in and can walk away.

Thanks I guess I will continue to do main movie only. Does anyone here do deep analysis? Does it really make a difference? I mean can you really tell that it is better quality with that.

I either use deep analysis along with max smoothness/max sharpness-or use non at all.I never really tried deep analysis all by itself.

Highly compressed, definitely use it. No major compression, like 10% or so,probably not.
