Morning everyone, the other day i was lucky enough to get my old broken dvd player (still under warranty swaped over for a new LG 160gig HDD DVD player. Now im trying to copy my bought DVD to the HDD, but all it comes up is "Uncopyable Movie, Copy Protected". Now, ive downloaded DVD Shrink as recommended by some mates and this forum. Copied Wedding Crashes last nite through DVD Shrink to a blank dvd and still says the same thing. I was expecting as such, but i had to try just in case. Do you oh so learnered ones have an idea of how i can put copyrighted dvds to HDD players. hopefully you guys can help me out. Thank you
Scott

I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder with the HDD in it and I just copy the disks I burn from the PC right over with no problems. Once you have burned them onto a disk there should be no protection on them and the recorder will see them as just another DVD.

Just as a thought did you do the whole disk, or reauthor and do movie only. Your Recorder may be picking up on the warnings, try movie only and see what happens.

Are you saying that you put shrink on the hdd of your lg and tried to make a copy using your lg?

Just tried out my backup of Wedding Crashers which is movie only and my Recorder had no problems with any protection. You can always give it a try to see if it is due to the FBI warnings, which can be removed with other programs like VobBlanker CloneDVD or DVD Remake.

no, i used shrink to copy wedding crashes to a blank dvd, thinking hopefully that burning it on to a new disc would somehow remove the copyright protection on it so i could copy it to my hdd. however it did not and im just enquiring if anyone kno's how to avoid copy right protection, whilst using shrink.

Here is a guide on using Shrink, if you scroll down to step 5 you will see how to do movie only.

I can't remember if crashers has special protection that shrink can't handle alone. Any help out there?

Hope it works for you, although I can't remember what protection is on Wedding Crashers at this moment. You might want to try ripping with the free DVDFab Decrypter to your comp HDD and then process with Shrink.

Sorry entered to soon. Use Slysoft AnyDVD. Have used it for two years and it has broken all protections. It must be purchased though. It is also automatic. You insert DVD and It breaks protection.
