How do i record seperate dvds of 3 hours each into one DVD disc

if you burn it to a standard DVD(dvd-5) or the ones that are 4.7 gigs then you'll probably lose quite a bit of quality. Probably worse than VHS tape. If you happen to have a dual layer and feel like spending $5 or more per disc then you can burn it onto a DVD-9 or a 8.5 Gig disc. You'll still lose quite a bit of quality though.
