First the games boots on my friends old ps2 with swap magic 3.6 with no problems.
but on mine (i think it is a v14 scph75001) the games boots but freezes 5 sec after the opening video starts.
i can skip the video by pressing start (it does not freeze wheni get to the press start screen)
when i press start to go to the menu it is okay , but when i go in arcade mode, story mode, time attack the game freezes after 5 sec
(i can go in the option menu with no prblem but it freezes when i play a song).

my dvd is not scrached and it cant be media type because i burnt it 6 times
3 at dif speeds with DVD+R and 3 with DVD-R.

And im not sure if it is because of my model because i read on another forum that a guy was not able to play it on his old model ps2 but on his pstwo he was able.

and i dont think its the laser because i can play all my other games and backups and my ps2 aint old either well i got it december 26 2005.

And if it were the laser i dont think the game would boot.

Does anybody knows how i can fix this ?

what brand and speed media are you using.
Usually problems like that are due to cheap media
it can be the media type as how fast you burn it and weather it is +R or -R make no difference if it is a crappy brand like some TDK or all Memorex

Well for +R i was using a white top TDK (thats all i know) and maxell +R
For the -R its a Kodak reflective top(blank)

And for speeds i used 8X 4X and 1X.

but i still wonder all my other backups work.

BTW that the the lighting fast reply.

THX in advance.

I just wonder why its sarts but but frezzes at a certain point.
i tried diff type of media cleaned the lens with multiple ways.
burned at diff speeds.
and even if it is media type why would all my other back up work and not this one?
we use the same media on his and it does.

Hmm i found something that might be helpful
In the audio menu ther are 3 choises to play
Battle BGM (music) (while racing)
BMG (and regular simple beet) (in some menus)
SFX (little beeps and crashes)

I can play the SFX with no prob they go okay
But when i play a BGM or a battle BGM its plays for 5 sec then the game freezes and i hear a loud constant buzz.

(F.Y.I when ever it crashes i hear a buz)

(Hey wait a minute the game only freezes when i hear audio like the opening movie and while chosing witch car to load or in the car information menu they all have music)

(And when i tryed to extract the audio to my computer a couple of days ago its was not regular ps2 audio files from what i saw they were DC compressed audio files they were i think a lot of .ADX compressed into 1 .AFS for each section like SFX BGM etc..)

anywase im just posting what i found out it might or might not help.

I will rety with no sound at all.

Bah i cant turn off the menu audio so no no luck at all yet.

(kinda off topic)
It is just that its long to keep swaping and i have low patience xD.
and its been like 5 days im trying to get this to work.

I have special stage and it worked fine with swap and slide. I think is definitely the media, because kodak and tdk is not my usual brand of media(no, i dont use taiyo or verb, I use cmc). However, if you have the iso on your computer, try burning it with alcohol at 4x, because mine came out fine like that.

I have the same problem. But my version of the game is the Original Special Stage and it is in mint condition and has no scratches what so ever. I have a slimline ps2 version 14 and I used swap magic, once the video loads the game will freeze along with an annoying buzzing sound. If i skip the video and try to play the game in any mode it will once again freeze and make that buzzing noise. Please help.

It was reported there were problems, but no one mentioned that Initial D was one of the games that does not work with the latest v14 / SCPH-75000 PS2s.
