Not a very good sales week. I'll have to check out Office Max and Office depot sale.Maybe they'll have a better deal when I go to the web flier tomorrow?

Office max still has the verbatim 16x on sale for $14.99 a 50 pk in case anyone is in a pinch.

How about kmart? Sometimes they'll have fuji on sale. This week it was memosux 25 pks.

CVS and Walgreens also have an occasional media sale.

My town don't have much, as far as store ads- for all the bigger stores, other than staples.

Okay guys and gals, I see threads for media sales, but not for general computer. Is there one? If so, mods kindly move to proper thread.

NCIX is having an awesome 10th anniversary sale. This is a Canadian company so Canada's site has better prices than the American. I picked up a OCZ 1gb flashdrive last week....$27 CAD with rebate (rebate was $12 last week) Shipping was fast, ordered Sunday night, got my order at the door before 8AM Tuesday morning. I am in western Canada, so that could have made a difference.

General Computer sales:

Staple's looks pretty good:

200 gb maxtor hd for your dvd file storage: $49.98
17" Acer lcd monitor: $149.98: I got one of them and pretty decent.
PNG 512 mbs pc3200 DDR: $39.98.Decent ram in case anywho is in a pinch.
Cyberpower 485 VA UPS: $19.98
I/O Magic 16x DVD-RW drive: $29.98: These are built by many different manufacturers. BTC/EMPA/and Benq are some of them. You may get a good drive,or a pc of crap!

I saw the pic for the staple's brand media and they are in a different wrapper.Moser Bauer makes majority of Staple's brand media.Hard telling who makes these 50 pks.

i just noticed that staples has their store brand on sale. i was just wondering if this was worth it or not? i am a verbatim user myself, but i thought i could use these for a short period of time, and then transfer the movies i burn on these over to my verbatims. i only buy my verbatims in 100 packs, and i dont have the money, so just curious if these were worth for a short time?

chayne04: Staple's,like most other stores-usually use some crappy manufacturers for their store brand name media. Compusa/Office Max/etc. Office depot uses some pretty good manufacturers: Ritek and ricoh.

Staple's 8x media had a lot of moser bauer media. Not exactly quality stuff. The sale starting in 5 mins is for their 16x speed. Who made it? I may find out. I'm only a couple mins away and $8 for 50 just may hit paydirt?

Besides,my benqs will burn anything you slap in them. They also have an I/O Magic 16x which could be a Benq?

Edit: My local staple's isn't matching up with their ad. Picture in the ad is for 16x,and they only have the 8x. Here's the info on 1 pk of the 8x speed in the 50 pk:

well, sorry to hear that those are not worth anything. thank you for at least checking. i still might get them that way i can give those away to my buddies. like i said, i only wanted them for about 3 weeks until i buy my next 100 pack of verbs. i still might do it, who knows, do you think they would be ok until then?

I was bummed out that they didn't have the 16x like their ad stated.Maybe later on in the week? I am curious to see who made those.

It could have been a lot worse than cmags. My spindle said made in taiwan so I knew they weren't moser bauer. Cmags aren't too bad, just a few things to change: Reduced backup target and slower burn speed.

16 cents apiece isn't too bad for cmags. Look at all the memosux/TDK/HP sales. Those cmags will run about 30 cents each. That price is what gets my goat!!

catthief: They only had 2 I/O drives at my local store, not including the lightscribes. I thought the Benq 1670 was also Dvd-ram. Both drives I looked at said nothing about dvd-ram. I didn't want to risk it. I'm already at 50% with an excellent I/O Magice 16x Benq 1620,and 1 crappy Empa drive.

The dash 50 pks of 8x at my local staples said Made in India. Most likely Moser Bauer. Same with all the 25 pks of both formats. They did not have any 16x. Cmags were on their Plus 16x,not sure of the dash 16x.

Office Depot's brand is the highest quality media for store's brand named media.
