Thanks Jerry,
The new crossover cable did the trick. I have a 3500S, download the
B80 file and the new api. So far haven't got the unit to show any pictures yet. I'll keep trying.

Hello I just tried updating Pansat 3500 with boot file b-80 bios. I used the loader X-05BL Loader v35.01 [X-05BL] file and null modem cable. The b-80 file downloaded and the loader showed the 'message download complete', followed by a message 'flash burning' and then said 'flash update failed'. Now the display on the Pansat 3500 says b-80 but I get no signal to the TV or a menu screen. I tried doing this again but same messgae 'flash failed' after flash burning message. Have I locked the Pansat 3500? How do I fix this please. Surat

I'm not sure what happened but you can try this fix. Go to your site where you get the files or PANSATUSA.COM and download the factory loader and bin file. This file won't get any of the pay channels but restores the receiver to original settings. Since your unit does turn on just try loading the factory bin as you always do. If that works, then load the new files on top of that. If it seems like it won't take the file, shut off the back power switch. Have the factory loader and bin ready on your PC. Click the loader download button and a second later turn on the back power switch of the receiver. Timing this is tricky and has to be just right for the bin to take. See if that helps. If that doesn't help, try this forum link below. They deal mostly in Pansats.

Jerry thanks for the reply. It seems that the flash may have become defective since the first time we downloaded the b-80 bin update, the loader said 'downloaded' but we did'nt wait for it to reboot and so did we burn out the flash? If so how can we replace the flash? Thanks, Abeezar

Get a good download and just try it again. If it fails, then try that proceedure I posted above. That fix even works on receivers that seem completely dead at times. I don't think you did any actual damage but you need to force a good flash over the bad one. I would try the factory bin first to clear out any possible problems in there.

Jerry

Edit:::: I am trying to research this more and am finding that you may need to Jtag this receiver if what I posted doesn't work. I hope a good B-80 file will load properly. If it starts to load, DO NOT SHUT IT DOWN until it reboots itself and the word (ON) shows in the display.

NO, PansatUSA only has the factory file listed. That won't get you any good channels if you know what I mean. Go to this site I will link to below and join, its free. Then check the newbie/ getting started areas for your model receiver. Read all the guides and then go to the download section for you receiver. All files and instructions you might need will be on this site.

http://www.future-fta.info.

They are the best support site for Pansat receivers. All sections are listed by receiver model.

Have you lost ALL channels or just a few?? If you lost all channels, then you need to install new key numbers or possibly a new bin file. If just a few channels and most are still working, then the missing channels were moved to other transponders or no longer being broadcast. A rescan will usually find the missing channels if they were moved. If they are no longer being carried by the provider then nothing can be done.

As a rule for myself, I usually delete all channels about once a month and rescan each sat. That way I keep all channels up to date. If one of the people you know, that have your missing channels working can give you the transponder number for each missing channel, then all you need to do is scan those transponders to find the channel.

Join this site below and check the 3500 sections. You may find an answer there, if not post the exact problem and what caused it on that site. To my knowledge, all the providers can do to your box is change the encryption to scramble the channels. They can't shut it down so it has to be something else that causes it to go completely out.

Haven't got my system to work yet.
My pansat 3500s doesn't come with a sd memory card. What is the purpose of the sd card, will the system work without it ? The manual stated 128MB, can I put in a 256MB or bigger instead ?

Is there a password reset switch somewhere on the box ?
The person I got it from has a password on it and I cannot get hold of him.

Thanks.

Hey Jerry, I have question regarding autoroll. I do have the lastest bin loaded on my pansat which is the 112, but it when the bev key changed the autoroll didn't take effect. It didn't change the keys for me and I would have to enter it manually. What should I do to get it to roll?

From what I have been reading, you should turn off auto roll for BEV right now and enter the keys manually until a new BEV bin shows up.
