Can I scan a particular channel or do I need to scan all channels of a satellite while looking for a channel?

If yes, can you please tell how.

Each Transponder on the different sats carries several channels. You can do just a transponder scan if you have an idea of where the channel should be. You can check Lyngsat at the 2 links below and see if your channel is listed and which TP it is on.

Lyngsat does show the latest info. They also show it by transponders.

The bin file is a small software program that tells each receiver how to deal with the encryption signal from the sats. The key codes are sort of like the passwords for that program to work. Both need to be the latest ones available. The bin files usually have a feature called auto roll that will find the new keys automatically as they change. But the sat providers keep finding ways to defeat the auto roll, so at times you may need to shut auto roll off and manually enter new keys for awhile. Its all a game you need to learn how to play properly. Bin files need to be installed by attaching the receiver to your PC.

My Dish points to 119 W. If I need to view programs only available on 61.5 E, do I need another dish or switch my back & forth whenever needed?

You have a few options depending on the amount of money you want to spend. 1st option is a second dish and aim at 61.5. 2nd option is a motorized mount that will move automatically to the sat you select once its set up properly. The motor is the more expensive but you can get many sats with one dish. Moving the dish manually is something I don't suggest if you want to go back and forth.

Hey Jerry,

I heard that you know all about this stuff so i want to ask you a question. I Have Pansat 3500 and my latest bin file is 399 with no card. Now I am an Indian and i can't get some PPV and ZeeTv Channels and also lots of echo 61.5 and 110 dosn't work. Now Future FTA Has its site down so i can't go because they are upgrading their site. Now what should i do? Is there any new binfiles out there or something. If yes, then can you redirect me to the link or some thing like that instead of giving me the home site. Thanks in Advance Jerry

The latest pansat bin file is 339 not 399. We all are waiting for 340.

Ricky35 is correct. There is nothing we can do until the new bin is released. Future-fta is locked down because of the many people looking for the fix. The same you will find on many of the fta sites. Just keep checking here and at other sites. When the bin is out we will post the information either as a link or tell you where to find it.

Hey Jerry,

I've looked around a little for a while on this satellite setup with a pansat and dish net stuff, in fact I've got a friend who does it, just never got around to doing anything about it. My question is, do you know how to set up a pansat 3500sd to work with a dish network 811 receiver? I don't currently have the dish net service so.. I just don't know If I should be using it. The thing is that I have a monitor that works with a DVI plug and the pansat doesn't have one, so thats really the primary reason.. I mean if there is any other benefit to doing this or that, I don't know or what. The dish net receiver has a antenna plug 'in' option and I was hoping to run the pansat through that, unless like aforementioned a different setup is more beneficial.

thanks for your time

You have me somewhat confused but let me see if I read this right.

You have a DN 811 receiver but its not in use and you don't subscribe yet. Is the DN dish still up and aimed properly??? If I read correctly, you just need the 811 for the video output to the monitor. If this is what you need then I think it can be done but I don't know the complete backside of the 811 connections. If there is another connector on it for another input for example a second antenna then the Pansat out to the TV can be hooked to that and should feed its signal through the 811. Just don't hook up any phone line to the 811. The dish connection will go directly to the Pansat and it should work properly once we get a new working bin file. You can get some channels now with the last bin, just no PPV/XXX or premium movies right now. There should be way to select that second input on the 811 either by remote or on the front so the second signal input is the active one. DN can't trace the receiver without a phone hookup. If the second input works with the DN card out I would remove it also. They can't trace the card but it will try to take updates if its in.

If you would read some of the other posts on this forum you will see that everyone has the same problem. We are all waiting on a new bin file release to fix the PPV/movie channel problem. They have been out for several days now.

I just go my Pansat 3500 in the mail today. I already have the latest bin file 342 from and my dish is already pointed to 110 & 119. What do I do now? Do I just load the bin into my SD card and run a channel scan? Should autoroll be on for this new bin? Please, let me know if I'm missing any steps.

No, you have the right idea. Just load the bin to the receiver--make sure auto roll is on and then wait for the picture to come in. The auto roll takes 5 to 10 minutes at times. I usually rescan the sats about once a month to update any channel location changes, but thats up to you.

I have the 3500sd, with bin 342. How do I set the autoroll on? My channels are dropping than some come back. It must be in the setup, but i am missing the point.
