My address bar from internet explorer has disappeared. Is there a way to bring it back?

I tried to right click on address bar but for some reason address bar already had check mark in front of it and was enabled. I tried to enable and disable it but nothing worked.

Can you please help me?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a check mark. However, address bar does not appear.

You could try right click like before and then uncheckin the address bar and then closing the browser and then opening it again and then right clicking and seeing if it appears again.

If that does not work you can try and go to your internet Properties and go to the advanced menu bar and click on Restore Defualts and then apply the changes click ok and then try opening the browser again and if its not there still try right click again if that does not work you may need to reinstall your browser.

To resolve this problem, edit the registry to remove the corrupt value(s).

Close all open Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows. Start the Registry Editor (Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT.EXE).

Go to the following Registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

For Windows Explorer: In the right pane, locate the Explorer sub-key and open it. In the right pane, locate the ITBarLayout value. Right click this value and select Delete.

For Internet Explorer: In the right pane, locate the WebBrowser sub-key and open it. In the right pane, locate the ITBarLayout value. Right click this value and select Delete.

Quit Registry Editor.

Open the affected program (Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer) and verify that you're Menu bar/Toolbar has been restored. If not, close all open Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer Windows and repeat the above step. Then locate the ShellBrowser sub-key, open it and delete the ITBarLayout value there.

stevefre, I have started the Registry Editor, entered REGEDIT.EXE
clicked on HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar and then I was not sure about locating WebBrowser sub-key because Registry Editor shows a list of three browsers:

(default)REG_SZ
REG_BINARY
REG_DWORD

Which WebBrowser sub-key should I locate from the above list and then open it?

If you want to clear all the invalid entry's in your registry just use this program it does all the hard work for you and all you have to do is press delete.

That should make things easy.

Good Luck...

Go to view>toolbars>and uncheck "lock the toolbars" Then move your
cursor pointer under the "back and foward bar" Move it slowly and if
the pointer changes to a pointer that "points up and down" hold your
left mouse button down and pull down. Your address bar may be underneath another bar. Its hard to explain in words.
